For the last couple of weeks I've been looking for a small domain to operate a url shortner. I tried really hard to find a domain hack like the chat app "babelwith.me" or my friend's blog "samsoff.es". Unfortunately, I'm pretty late to the game so I couldn't find one that worked for me.

But, yesterday I was looking around for domains after work and I found zg.it was available and promptly placed the order. Unfortunately it didn't go through because a) you have to be an Italian citizen (but, I worked around that one) and b) cannot be 2 characters. The second one there couldn't be worked around.

After some more searching, I was able to find another "zg" domain. Everything processed overnight and its....

zg.ae

I've already set this up as a domain shortner for myself so you'll be seeing links on Twitter and Facebook from this domain. :)

(And, in case you are wondering, the country code .ae is associated with United Arab Emirates and is administered by Etisalat. So, no I didn't give money to any questionable government. :)

Today I begin my first day on the LifeChurch.tv IT team. I'm so pumped to rejoin the LifeChurch.tv team.

Suffice it to say, the title does most of the talking. For several months, Brand New Church has experienced a down-turn in giving and as a direct consequence of this, as of October 1 BNC is unable to pay 5 current staff members.

On Sept. 16, I was informed that my position would be a part of this round of layoffs. Immediately I began to seek employment elsewhere and am in the final negotiations of a new job to begin Oct. 1. Obviously I am not ready to announce with what organization this is yet, but I can tell you that my new job is not in the Harrison, AR area (where I currently reside) and so I will be moving very quickly.

I am incredibly excited about this new journey that God has for me, but will miss all of my Brand New Church family extensively. Please follow me on Twitter and Facebook and I'll do the same to stay connected. Also, please pray for several financial obstacles to overcome in the sudden nature of all of this. I thank you in advance for your prayers!

It has been said by many that the hope of the world is the local church. I believe this to be true with all of my heart and know that Brand New Church will continue to be relentless in doing whatever it take to fulfill its mission of bringing those far from God to God.
